It’s so easy to fall behind in every day life and forget about our purpose. There are so many distractions, and so many things that can get in the way of what we need to do to achieve our goals. Sometimes this is okay, because it means we are also living our life rather than only trying to achieve our goals. But it can become excessive. And when it becomes excessive, we lose touch with ourselves and our purpose.
Everyone has a purpose. It doesn’t have to be a predetermined purpose – maybe you gave yourself your purpose, maybe someone else gave it to you, or maybe it’s always been a part of you. But nonetheless, YOU have a purpose.
Life becomes fun when you follow your purpose – more fun than it could have ever possibly been. This is because humans thrive on progress. We thrive on becoming more than we were yesterday. And this is the beauty of having a purpose and following it with all your heart. It changes who you are (in a good way) and makes you feel like you never could have otherwise. Sometimes, we forget about our purpose, and we get caught up in the ebb (don’t know what this word means but it is totally something you would use here so that’s why I put it haha) and flow of the day. What can you do about this?
1. Reconnect with yourself.
Go somewhere where you won’t be bothered. Somewhere where you can think and be to yourself for an entire day (or a whole week! Whatever floats your boat). You need to find this precious time to think to yourself and find what it is you want to do, so that you can go and live with passion and drive.
2. Ask Questions.
The most efficient way to find your true calling, is to ask yourself questions. Don’t worry, no one will think you’re crazy for asking yourself questions. When you question who you are, why you do what you do, what you want and why you want it, you find out more about yourself than ever before, and when you know who you are, you know what you want.
3. Find that feeling.
If I focus hard enough, I can lock in on this feeling inside of me. It is almost like a fire – like my soul’s voice. This “voice” knows what it is you truly want and connect with. Whenever I get lost, I lock down on this feeling within, whatever it is, and I instantly know what I am meant to do. Confusion dissipates almost instantly, and the road becomes clear. It is only a feeling – but feelings are strong, and they can change everything. So try to find this feeling within yourself.
If you do any of these three things, you will find your purpose, or, if you have already found it, you will reconnect with your purpose, and become stronger than ever. Take time out every week to reconnect with your purpose so that you never get lost. Ruby Brown can help you find this balance so you can become more motivated to achieve your true calling than ever before.
Know what you want. Know why you want it. Know who you are. Then, and only then, can you truly chase your purpose.
