Sunday Art.

stars and water

Sunday is the time for me, when if I’m lucky the world fades away and I quietly, so as not to wake the giants, tip toe into my studio and paint.  Firstly though, need to make a bed for my dog, it is winter after all.

I pick the canvas, in this case photographic paper as I have been experimenting, then the colour palette, some brushes, clean hands, they become brushes… often.  Then quiet grows and I enter another part of myself, walking in and discovering what has been its perspective of the world.  What I find is expressed on canvas.

Abstract is defined technically as – existing in thought or as an idea, but not having a physical or concrete existence.  A trend in painting and sculpture in the twentieth century. Abstract art seeks to break away from traditional representation of physical objects. It explores the relationships of forms and colours, whereas more traditional art represents the world in recognizable images.

With in my expression, abstract can refer to the unspoken, the breath and its relations, the place of no influence and silent truth.
